Wilderness Survival @ Hickory Hills Hideaway

February 14-15 (Larue, TX) – Another annual classic campout for Troop 570 is our Wilderness Survival campout. Two patrols were sent out into the woods where they had to use all of their great scouting knowledge to build shelters, start and maintain campfires and cook a meal consisting of quail eggs, raw tilapia fish and a can of peaches (no can opener provided).

This was our second consecutive year to use Hickory Hills Hideaway, a 300+ acre ranch near Larue, TX just east of Athens. We are extremely grateful to the Wooten family for their kindness and hospitality.
