Job Description:
The Bugler plays the bugle at monthly campouts and at Courts of Honor. Scout must be able to play the trumpet/bugle/cornet.
(Note: The Bugler position does NOT count toward rank of Eagle.)
Responsible to:
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
Minimum Rank:
First Class Scout
Minimum Training:
Oak Leaf and prior brass instrument experience
Term:
Approximately 5 months
Minimum Attendance:
The Bugler should attend at least 80% of the Monday meetings and at least 75% of the monthly campouts
Specific Duties:
- Play reveille every morning and taps every night at all Troop campouts, when possible.
- Play taps at the conclusion of the Courts of Honor.
- Play the bugle/trumpet/cornet at the request of the Scoutmaster or SPL.
- Be on time for all troop meetings and activities.
- Set a good example.
- Enthusiastically wear the scout uniform.
- Live by the Scout Oath and Law.
- Be an active Scout and show Scout spirit.
